Hargeisa โ€“ The Minister of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, accompanied by the Director of the Wildlife Department and the Director of Administration and Finance, conducted a working inspection visit to Debbis Wildlife Reserve to assess the current condition of the reserve, ongoing activities, and ways to accelerate development plans and strengthen wildlife conservation efforts.


During the inspection, the Minister also visited the historical sites and archaeological remains of Dhagax-Nebi-Galay, where he assessed their importance to the environment, history, and cultural heritage of Somaliland.


Debbis Wildlife Reserve is one of the important protected areas for wildlife, particularly gazelles and deer. The visit highlighted the need to strengthen the protection and development of the reserve while ensuring the sustainable conservation of its natural resources.


The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing wildlife protection, developing protected areas, and preserving Somalilandโ€™s natural, historical, and cultural heritage.
